Asif Bax – Managing Director

Asif has been with Halo from its’ infancy joining in December 2011.  As Managing Director, Asif sets strategic direction and provides leadership and financial control for the Association.  As an Executive Member of the Board of Management, Asif works closely with fellow Board Members to provide appropriate scrutiny to ensure that Halo are meeting their aims and objectives; and are financially sound.  Asif leads on Halo’s business development and his key role is to form and manage stakeholder relationships and develop the future growth of the Association.

Asif is a highly skilled Director with considerable experience in the Housing with Care sector, delivering services to adults with complex and challenging needs.  His passion and altruistic approach is central to his belief that everyone deserves the right to live with dignity and choice enhancing their quality of life.  This vision translates to the Halo team’s person-centred approach.  Asif demands the best from those around him, adopting an example-led approach to leadership and he has been synonymous with the success and growth of the organisation.

Ann Walton – Head of Operations

Ann joined Halo in March 2019.  Ann brings a wealth of experience in Housing Management; having worked for a number of large North West based Social Housing Providers.  In more recent years Ann has specialised in Income Management and Financial Inclusion.  For many years Ann was employed as a Regional Manager, providing generic housing management services to a range of Social Housing Providers including Stock Transfer Associations. Ann is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Reporting into Asif and the Board; Ann is responsible for leading Halo’s Operations Team. In addition to overseeing the day to day operations of Halo’s front-line service around Repairs & Maintenance, Compliance and Tenancy Management; Ann leads on Governance for Halo. 

Habiba Adams – Strategic Development Manager

Habiba joined Halo in 2019 as the Strategic Housing Development Manager. She has 15 years development, regeneration, and governance experience in the supported and social housing sector. Habiba is a visionary strategic thinker with passion, enthusiasm, and the ability to get things done. 

Reporting to Asif; Habiba is responsible for leading Halo Housing’s new growth area for extra care housing, and supports Asif on business growth, securing new supported living projects.  Habiba is currently working on an extra care housing project, with the aim to deliver a high quality 70 apartment scheme.  She has also brought new Care Partners to the table and secured some supported housing schemes with several projects in the pipeline.  

Adil Valli – Regional Development Manager

Adil is a qualified Pharmacist who brings a very high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent customer care and communication skills.  He has been employed by Halo Housing Association to help build and develop the organisation in new areas, his time is spent identifying potential sites that we can develop along with servicing and maintaining existing partnerships by working closely with local councils, Private Sector and Third Sector organisations.

Adam Patel – Maintenance and Compliance Co-Ordinator

Adam has a diverse range of skills and is someone that is a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in project and data management.  His background in IT and property surveying helps Halo Housing in the development of bespoke systems – optimising the performance of the Maintenance and Repairs service at Halo Housing Association, ensuring that the portfolios repairs lifecycle is managed effectively in order to satisfy Key Performance Indicators.  His meticulous, organised manner serves him well with prioritising his workload and demonstrates a real apathy towards the tenants that we provide housing and support services to.  He is responsible for providing a value-for-money Maintenance and Repairs service that inculcates the needs of tenants meeting all applicable statutory requirements.

Shadha Mahmood-Quereshi – Housing Services Co-ordinator

Shadha provides day-to-day management to our Housing Services team. She leads on Tenancy Management, Arrears Recovery, Management of Anti-Social Behaviour and all Tenancy related issues.

Aimee O’Neill – Maintenance Officer

Aimee has spent 6 years working in the Housing industry primarily working for a large Registered Provider of Social Housing , initially starting as an apprentice and progressing through various departments within the organisation. Starting with Environmental Services, which involved providing advice and delivering tailored training to tenants, then specialising in Asset Management more specifically Investment and contract management. Aimee has an extensive knowledge of all facets of the housing sector. She is now tasked with being responsible for Procurement & Housing Standards as well as supporting the maintenance and repairs department.

Feroza Talaty – Revenue Services Officer

Feroza joined Halo in December 2018.  She has a background in Benefits having  worked for the Department of Work and Pensions for 5yrs, where she dealt with a myriad of enquiries.  Feroza advised on which benefits to claim and  assisted claimants through the process of making an initial claim and also providing advice when needed. Feroza also has  10 years experience as a Benefits Assessor processing Housing Benefit and Council Tax claims from the application stage through to  making decisions and advising on their entitlements.

Sabina Ghous – Development Officer

Sabina provides support to the development team, sourcing new housing opportunities for our existing and potential Tenants. Sabina’s personality and outlook mirrors her desire to help people that require support to maintain their tenancies and enhance their quality of life.

Her previous work experience involves being the Operations Manager for a recruitment agency supplying care workers to extra-care housing schemes and organising the right staffing levels to provide services to vulnerable people.  Sabina’s personality and outlook mirrors her desire to help people that require support to maintain their tenancies and enhance their quality of life.

Salvatore Arcangelo – Supported Housing Officer

Salvo joined Halo in March 2019 as Housing Officer.  Having worked in the Care Sector, Salvo brings with him extensive knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable tenants and also housing best practice.  At the start of his career Salvo worked in retail management where customer service was always a priority and so he firmly believes that Tenants should be front and centre of everything that we do here at Halo.  ” Look after your customers and they will look after you” .  Salvo is always happy to help others and will treat others with respect  and dignity. Having worked in the Care Sector for 5 years his life values meant that he excelled in this role and he had a great bond with the service users, their families and the care staff team. As part of the Halo Housing Team, Salvo will  ensure our care providers, service users and landlords receive a quality service  and are treated with respect and dignity.  Salvo’s motto is ” I listen I respect  I deliver.”

Salim Kadu – Supported Housing Officer

Having joined us in October, Salim deals with all aspects of Halo’s Tenancy management. This includes Property Reviews, Sign Ups and Tenant Engagement, ensuring that service users, care providers and landlords receive the very best quality of service.

Anthony Bamber – Maintenance Operative

Anthony joined the Halo  team in September 2018.  He has extensive experience in property maintenance both internally and externally; he  spent 9 years working in drainage, to repairing and also laying new pipe work.  He has also worked in hotel maintenance for 3 years where he did all the repairs around the Hotel.  In addition Anthony is also a qualified brick-layer and has worked on a number of sites for New Build Homes.

Tess Clegg – Governance Officer

Tess joined us in January as a graduate from King’s College London. Working within the Operations team, Tess helps to maintain Halo’s compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing Standards and the National Housing Federation’s Code of Governance and Conduct, in order to ensure Halo is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. 

Nadia Rashid – Systems and Performance Officer

Nadia is responsible for maintaining our housing management system, producing performance reports and monitoring our compliance. In addition, Nadia assists on repairs
